Biography

As a dedicated professional with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and a Postdoc in Neuroscience, I am passionate about advancing the field of Neuroengineering. My research focuses on developing cutting-edge techniques to study the neural mechanisms of the hippocampus while animals are engaged in various navigation tasks. During my postdoc research at JHU, I gained expertise in animal training, surgery implantation, awake behaving recording, neural data analysis, and histology processing through collaborating with others on various projects. I successfully analyzed experimental data and presented my findings at the prestigious ICN conference in Lisbon in 2022, as well as delivered a keynote talk at the SOAR/BISCIT workshop in 2023. My Ph.D. work specialized in mechanical design, from requirement generation to manufacturing, testing, and documentation. I possess a solid foundation in the field, with additional experience in mechatronics systems and control theory, which complement my expertise. I am well-versed in programming languages such as MATLAB and Python, and utilizing them to support the research process effectively. My strong research background in signal processing and camera/mic array systems led me to develop a novel direction-finding method by integrating biomimetic sonar robots and machine learning algorithms. This research was published in prestigious journals such as PNAS and Nature Machine Intelligence. As I explore new opportunities in Neuroengineering, I am eager to apply my unique skill set and knowledge to tackle complex challenges and positively impact the industry.
